Get this – instead of an “Advent” calendar, the BBC has posted an “Adventure” Calendar for all Dr. Who fans in the universe. Amazing. And such a great use of your time.

PS – Everyone convince Willa that she should totally go as Rose Tyler to a new year’s eve costume party in England where the theme is important people from the 00′s. She can be Rose and her date for the night can be the Doctor – it’s perfect!

A good friend of the blog sent an email that said “If I had any money at all, you would be getting these for Christmas” She followed this with another email saying “Also, I just realized how sexual some of these could look if inappropriately placed…”. That made us like them all the more when I clicked on the link. As we all know, we like gingerbread (and Lebkuchen ). We like yoga. And we love naughty things. So these cookies would be very much appreciated if you’re going to perhaps leave a little something under the tree for your favorite bloggers.

Gingerbread is tasty. Gingerbread houses are fun. Architecture is awesome. Architects tend to be pretty cool. Which means that these gingerbread houses made by Chicago-based architects are fun, cool, awesome, and tasty!

I love penguins on parade – have ever since I saw the penguins go marching around the Edinburgh Zoo when I was 4 years old. But what makes penguins on parade even better? That’s right, penguins dressed up as Father Christmas and marched around daily until Christmas Day. Amazing, Japan, amazing. I really like that the outfits were made by staff – adds a bit more charm to the whole thing.

Like all Christmas-loving children, I spent much of my childhood wishing I could go to the North Pole. Well, it turns out, with some technological advances, now you can! My personal favorite is dancing with Santa. Who knew the guy had such moves?!
(Be sure to check out his different dances and music. The dancing trees make it.)
I know where I’ll be getting my holiday cheer…

After spending an inordinate amount of time lately with people who care deeply about this sort of thing, I’m slowly coming to understand the culture surrounding British Premier League Football (soccer!), if not appreciate it. But this came as quite a shock to me. I had no idea that Premier League Christmas parties had such a long, colorful, and controversial history. So much for the stiff upper lip.

So I don’t know if any of you have been worrying heavily this season about the apparent threats to the Christian hegemony in this country but I think my favorite is this:
“The original holiday celebrated in this country is Christmas. No one mention of this holiday with all the others rattled off was stated in the Gap’s first holiday commercial. No one has the right to remove Christmas from our country or our vocabulary!”
The AFA got all up in arms and briefly protested the Gap over it, until they were somehow appeased (not sure how you do that. Desert-Wanderer skinny jeans? The Virgin Mary sweater dress? Joseph Cut carpenter pants?)
What no one seems to be protesting is the major problem with this ad
