A good friend of the blog sent an email that said “If I had any money at all, you would be getting these for Christmas” She followed this with another email saying “Also, I just realized how sexual some of these could look if inappropriately placed…”. That made us like them all the more when I clicked on the link. As we all know, we like gingerbread (and Lebkuchen ). We like yoga. And we love naughty things. So these cookies would be very much appreciated if you’re going to perhaps leave a little something under the tree for your favorite bloggers.

Oooh! Kitschy museums and Germany! Two things I can get behind. This article is also making me really crave a currywurst right now…

A Peep store has opened outside of Washington, DC. Now, I know many people find these little marshmallows absolutely disgusting, but my father and aunt used to feed them to me when I was very little and, unfortunately for me, the taste for them stuck with me. I like mine just a bit stale, but I especially like the thought of a 42 inch tall Peep plushie.

I love penguins on parade – have ever since I saw the penguins go marching around the Edinburgh Zoo when I was 4 years old. But what makes penguins on parade even better? That’s right, penguins dressed up as Father Christmas and marched around daily until Christmas Day. Amazing, Japan, amazing. I really like that the outfits were made by staff – adds a bit more charm to the whole thing.

Yeah, the kitsch isn’t just for Christmas. We are equal-opportunity, only slightly-denominational kitschers (what? I’m sure that’s a word). So I present to you the “Make Cute Chanukah [sic] Decorations from Popsicle Sticks” from www.creativejewishmom.com
No longer are popsicle sticks the realm of badly made snowflake ornaments and nativity scenes. Just, don’t try to light this particular Menorah on fire. And please don’t be sad when the dreidel doesn’t actually spin.
I kinda want to make one now…
